Town Radar Speed Sign Temporarily placed on Rectory Lane

Yesterday Town Public Works crews placed the Radar Speed Sign unit on Rectory Lane is response to several residents complaints of speeding on the residential street, as well as part of the Town’s Traffic Data gathering effort to obtain traffic data on all Town streets. This data allows the Town Police Chief to strategically deploy officers during documented peak speed violations periods, and assist the Town in planning roadway improvement projects.

The sign has been placed to “Stealth Mode” in which it collects traffic data but will not display driver’s speeds as to prevent becoming a nuisance to nearby residents. The sign will be relocated back to 725 after it’s one week study is over.
