Public Hearing NOTICE


The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold two public hearings later this month on a request by the Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) to increase its electric distribution rates by $68.6 million (an increase of $7.37–or 5.5%– a month for the typical residential customer). Pepco provides electricity to 566,000 customers in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in Maryland. In its application, Pepco notes the company has spent $138.3 million in 2016 on service reliability improvements to its distribution infrastructure, and plans to spend an additional $150.6 million in 2017
