2018 Inauguration Ceremony

 

 

On Monday, December 3, 2018, we will swear in the new County Executive and County Council members. Find out what you can expect when attending or watching this event.

Spanish, French and sign-language interpretation will be available.

What to Expect?

We are expecting large crowds. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and to allow ample time for parking and security checks when coming into the Arena. Entrance may be delayed once the swearing-in portion of the program begins. The County Executive and County Council Members must be sworn-in by noon according to the County Charter.

Parking and Directions 

Parking will be available on the top level of the County Administration Garage on a first come first serve basis.  Ample and Accessible free parking is also available at the Showplace Arena for the general public.  The Inaugural shuttle bus will be available from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM every 8-10 minutes in front of the garage at the County Administration Building pondside.  It will resume at 12:00 PM and run until 2:30 PM.  

The Showplace Arena is on THE BUS public transportation route which is another option for travel.
Please be advised that logistical coordination to ride THE BUS will be the sole responsibility of the attendee.

Gavel Exchange Parking 

Parking will be available for Gavel Exchange on the top level of the County Administration Garage and surrounding parking spaces as available.  Parking permits are required for parking inside the garage.
