Be sure NOT to miss the Town’s Annual Memorial Day Ceremony this year.

Come and hear guest speakers share their fascinating stories of their tours of duty while in the military. Below is the agenda:

  • Welcome & Introduction of Guests: President James Storey- Oath of Allegiance
  • Presentation of Colors:  Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC.
  • National Anthem
  • Placement of Wreath: Police Chief Calvin Washington (U.S. Navy vet)
  • Guest Speaker:  U.S. Marine Corps (ret.) Jim Benson- History of 20-21st Century Warfare
  • Speaker: President James Storey (U.S. Air Force ret.)-  An Odyssey; Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 
  • Taps: John Roberts (Trumpet, FDHS Band)
  • Retirement of the Colors / “God Bless America”: end of Formal Ceremony
  • Social Hour inside Town Hall: Light Refreshments

We will also have music, delicious food & beverages—and of course, good old fashioned comradery with new and old friends. So please, drop by and join us—as we honor those who served, and are currently serving, in the United States Armed Forces.

The Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Memorial Day and repon on Tuesday May 31st at 9am.
